What is Repreve? 100% Recycled. Made better
Repreve isn't like other recycled fibers. It took years to develop the process that makes Repreve a leading recycled yarn. We tightly manage every step, and pass strict annual certifications by outside third parties.

Engineered To Be Different

Earlier attempts to make recycled polyester resulted in lower quality products. But luckily, the technology has evolved. With our proprietary process, we're able to make fibers that are "first quality," so they look good and feel soft and comfortable when made into fabrics. That makes Repreve a better choice than other recycled products, different from any other yarn out there. Engineered to be different.

Certifiably Better For The Environment

We have our recycled products certified so you can trust what you are getting. Third-party certification is the best way that you can be sure a product is better for the environment. Certification is not required. But we believe it's important to ensure product transparency.
Recycled Content Certification
Repreve is third-party certified for 100% recycled content. Every year, Scientific Certification Systems (SCS) performs a full examination of our recycled products, including our recycling process, production records, and manufacturing operations. SCS is a leading third-party certifier and standards developer of environmental and sustainability claims.

* Our goal is to have all products certified for recycled content claims. However, as we continue to evolve our recycled product offering, some of our newer products may be under evaluation by a third party. All certification numbers are for 2010 audited products.

Oeko-Tex Standard 100 Certification
Repreve also has achieved this certification, a well-known international eco-label. Oeko-Tex offers "Confidence in Textiles," providing testing and qualification that ensures that our yarns are free of harmful levels of more than 100 restricted chemicals. The Oeko-Tex Standard 100 is the world's leading label for textiles screened for harmful substances.

Recycling Different Kinds Of Waste

Repreve pulls post-consumer products out of the waste stream. But making Repreve is not just about recycling things like used water bottles. Behind every mound of post-consumer waste is a mountain of pre-consumer waste. That's why our process includes collecting and using pre-consumer waste from manufacturing. We start with our own—collecting and reusing all of our own industrial waste. To conserve more natural resources.

An Amazing Family of Fibers

Repreve is actually a versatile family of fibers made from 100% recycled materials. Some are made with nothing but post-consumer waste (plastic bottles) or post-industrial waste (nylon), others with a hybrid blend of post-consumer and post-industrial waste. Plus, some versions of Repreve can be engineered to perform just like non-recycled fibers—with moisture wicking and stretch, for example. Repreve is also sold to yarn and textile mills as staple fiber, which they make into recycled yarns and other earth-friendly textile products.

What It Takes To Wear The Repreve Label

How do you know something's really made with Repreve? Look for Repreve on the label. Our U Trust™ verification program ensures that Repreve recycled fibers are traceable, transparent, and most important, certifiably sustainable. With our unique Fiberprint™ technology, products made from fabrics with Repreve are tested and certified before the Repreve brand name can be used. So you know it's genuine recycled.
Better For The Planet
