TV Discovers Recycled Polyester Yarns June 2008
GREENSBORO N.C. – Viewers of the Discovery Channel will be able to see textile recycling in action when the TV station visits US polyester yarn supplier Unifi to find out how it makes its 100% recycled ‘Repreve’ polyester yarn.
Film crews from the international television show ‘How It’s Made’ will follow the production process of ‘Repreve’ at Unifi’s Yadkinville manufacturing plant in North Carolina. Unifi says that based on its projected volume for fiscal year 2008, the equivalent of around 6 million gallons of gasoline will be saved in the production of Repreve versus virgin PET.
